Strong Ties of Love

“Strong Ties of Love” OCTOBER 2015 This last month has been filled with the goodness and the kindness of God!! We had the honor of hosting a group of about forty 6th graders from Beltway Park for their weekend retreat. The weekend was filled with fun and inspiration to be intentional in community, not only with the body of Christ but with Christ Himself, the Holy Spirit, and Daddy God. We Desire to see the generations released into their destiny and to see the true sons and daughters rise up and bring forth the Kingdom of God, as the revelation of son-ship is solidified in their hearts. Jesus did just that in the 6th graders that came!! They reminded us of the simplicity of the gospel, that is, to receive love than give it away freely. In the city of Abilene, through some local non- profits and passionate lovers, we partnered in an event called ‘Mobilized Love’. This was a Saturday dedicated to laying down our agendas and was set apart for us to truly release love to those in our region. Some helped pump gas, pay for laundry, clean up trash off of the streets, hand out free meals, and simply stop people on the streets and share the gospel. We had a station set up at our missions house “House of Hope”, where we cooked hot dogs and hamburgers for volunteers and for those in the neighborhood. Love always looks like something.

5 These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel. 7 As you go, proclaim this message: ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a]drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.” –Matthew 10:5-8

God has been sharing more and more with us His heart for Abilene and the surrounding areas. In the great commission in Matthew 28, Jesus says to make disciples in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, then in the uttermost parts of the Earth. Our desire is to take care of our Jerusalem. It truly was a weekend of refreshing and joy as we got to witness people encountering Jesus. Soon after, Beltway Park Baptist Church brought in Randy Clark with Global Awakening for a missions conference. Randy spoke about Jesus being the king of the Nations and how to be equipped and sent out as we abide in the love of Christ. Many people encountered Jesus and were healed of physical illness, as well as emotional bondage. We enjoyed a time of worshiping and interceding for our city and nation. We have been blessed at Iris Abilene: Camp Barkeley with amazing family and rich community as we seek God for all that is to come in this next year!! We are expecting four schools in 2016. We are filled with great joy and faith for the schools, and for all those that will come to encounter the Prince of Peace! We are so grateful for all of those that have come along side to partner and co-labor with us in this process! We are confident that God is doing a work in the body of Christ, and in the world, that has never been seen before. We are continually filled with awe and wonder as we watch Jesus infiltrate the lives of many!! Be blessed and filled with the fullness of Christ’ love! Be trained, be equipped, and get mobilized. “ My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united with strong ties of love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” Colossians 2:2-3
